Leon Henderson, 85 of Seligman, passed away Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, at Cassville Health Care and Rehabilitation.
He was born in Rocky Comfort, July 30, 1926, the son of James Henry and Nannie May (Cox) Henderson. He was united in marriage to Geneva Mahurin on Aug. 26, 1944, and to this union two children were born, Charles and Leta.
Survivors include: a son, Charles Henderson and his wife, Annette, of Seligman; a daughter, Leta Lloyd and her husband, Efton, of Rogers, Ark.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruby.
He received his education at Rocky Comfort where he grew up. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. Following his discharge, he returned home where he drove a truck most of his life. He delivered propane to customers all throughout Barry County. He was a member of Seligman First Baptist Church, Pythagoras Lodge #383, Cassville, and American Legion Post #118 of Cassville.
Graveside services with military honors were held today (Wednesday) at Chitwood Cemetery, Wheaton, under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Bob Scott conducted the services.
