Faye Bowman, 67, of Jenkins, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, from complications of heart surgery.

She was born in Cassville, July 18, 1944, the daughter of Raymond and Lola (Ross) Lassiter. She was united in marriage to Donald Kent Bowman in Jenkins on Dec. 23, 1962. He preceded her in death in 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include: two sons, Doug Bowman and his wife, Julie, of Cassville, and Dan Bowman and his fiancée, Michelle Parsons, of Jenkins; one brother, Nolan Lassiter, of Cassville; one sister-in-law, Joann and the late "Bub" Bowman of Liberty; five grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

She grew up and received her education in Cassville, where she graduated with the Class of 1962. She continued her education at SMS in Springfield. She had been a receptionist for several doctors' offices. She and her husband also raised dogs, cattle and poultry on their farm. She was a volunteer dispatcher for Jenkins Fire Department and a member of the auxiliary. She was a member of Community Faith Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Doyle Russell will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Leann Cemetery, Leann.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., Thursday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
