Marty Leon Boyd, 44, of Cassville, passed away Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, in Rocky Comfort.
He was born March 10, 1967, in Bentonville, Ark., the son of Billy W. and Laveta "Tweedle" (Ellis) Boyd.
He received his education at Southwest School in Washburn and East Newton High School. He was currently enrolled in Crowder College. He was a self-employed musician. He spent time in Nashville, Tenn., pursuing a music career. He was also president of "Caring For Our Troops."
Survivors include: his fiancée, Michele Gaither, of Cassville; his father, Billy Boyd and his wife, Linda, of Granby; his maternal grandparents, Loyd and Delma (Harrell) Ellis, of Washburn; and one sister, Mickie Mahan and her husband, Loy, of Neosho.
Preceding him in death were his mother and paternal grandparents, Melvin and Minnie (Gasche) Boyd. Memorial services were held Saturday at Washburn First Baptist Church. Rev. Glenn Erwin conducted the services.
Cremation arrangements were under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
