The Barry County Clerk's office will be open from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 5. The special hours will be offered for absentee voting for the Nov. 8 election.
Absentee voting for the special election will also continue through Monday, Nov. 7. Voters will decide a 3/16th of a cent sales tax for county law enforcement and a one-eighth of a cent sales tax for county E-911 services.
Absentee voting hours will be offered at the clerk's office in Cassville from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Voters must present one form of identification, such as a driver's license or a voter registration card.
Area residents who are unable to vote absentee in person can request an absentee ballot by mail. Written requests should be mailed to Gary Youngblood at 700 Main St., Suite 2, Cassville MO 65625 or faxed to 417-847-5311.
Requests must include the following information: the date of the election; the voter's name, physical address, mailing address, phone number and date of birth; the last four digits of the voter's Social Security number; the reason for voting absentee; and the voter's signature. The last day to request an absentee ballot by mail is Wednesday, Nov. 2.
