Cassville fell to the third-seeded Mt. Vernon Lady Mountaineers in two games, 25-13, 25-9 in first round action.
In other opening games, Monett defeated Aurora in three games, 14-25, 25-23, 25-21, and East Newton downed Seneca in three, 25-7, 19-25, 25-18.
In Monday night's second round, Carl Junction beat Monett, 25-12, 25-18, and Mt. Vernon dispatched East Newton, 25-19, 25-17, to advance to Tuesday's championship game.
Class 2 District 11
at Diamond
College Heights defeated Purdy in two games, 25-17, 25-17. The Lady Eagles were led by Chrissy Bland and Chelsea Mareth with five kills each, Alyssa Gwin with five assists and Taylor Moller with two aces.
Southwest picked up the win over Sarcoxie, 25-17, 25-18, in first round play at Diamond.
Shannon Mitchell led the Lady Trojans with five attacks and five blocks, while Taylor Mettlach added four attacks and three aces. Also, Atisha Boudreau had six assists, while Chelsie Leroy made all 14 of her serves and extended her consecutive serve streak to 129, which is a new school record. Leroy, a junior outside hitter, has a serve percentage of 97.1 percent for the season and has only missed seven attempts.
Southwest now has a record of 15-12-2. The Lady Trojans played Diamond in the semifinals on Tuesday night.
Class 1 District 7
Verona downed Miller, 25-17, 25-12, to earn a semifinal match against top-seeded Billings on Tuesday. Exeter beat Wheaton, 25-21, 25-11, and Galena defeated Hurley, 23-25, 25-20, 25-23, in other first round action at Verona.
Exeter plays Galena at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday in the semi-final game. The championship game will be played at 7 p.m.
