The Southwest volleyball team lost to Exeter in three sets but defeated Sarcoxie in its final regular season games last week. The Lady Trojans finished with a 14-12-2 record overall and a 5-1 mark in the Ozark 7 Conference.
In the Exeter match, Southwest grabbed an early lead by winning the first set 25-18, but the Tigers rallied to win the next two sets on Senior Night 25-16, 25-21. Chelsie Leroy (8), Shannon Mitchell (7) and Megan Light (6) combined for 21 attacks. Setters Montana Hendrix and Atisha Boudreau both contributed 13 assists.
"It was a great match to watch," said Southwest coach Steve Voyak. "I didn't like the outcome, but both teams played well. They just made a few more plays at the end. They had nine seniors. They probably deserved to win Senior Night."
