Darlene Natalie Buck, 85, of Cassville, passed away at her home Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011.

She was born in Harmony, Minn., July 29, 1926, the daughter of George and Gladys (Halisy) Hillesland. She was united in marriage to Arthur "Art" Wilson Buck, Jr., on Jan. 13, 1945, in St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Croyden, Penn. He preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael Jerome Buck; one granddaughter, Natalie Jeanne Nehf; and one brother, George Hillesland.

Survivors include: two daughters, Angela "Angee" Nehf and Cherrwynne "Cherree" Walker and her husband, James "Jim", all of Cassville; two sons, Arthur "Dannee" Buck, of Exeter, and Randee Buck, of Arkansas; one brother, Richard Hillesland, of Bristol, Penn.; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She grew up and received her education in Harmony, Minn. She and Art owned and operated a donut shop which they named after themselves, Dart's Bakery and Lunch Counter in Cassville. She and Art were active members of the Erwin Easley American Legion Post 118 and Auxiliary in Cassville and each served as president of their units the same year. After the children were grown, they traveled to Norway, England and Ireland, as well as, sightseeing around the United States. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Cassville.

Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Burial was the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Chaplain Jack Betts conducted both services.
