Matthew Paul Rowe, 24, Neosho, Mo., passed away Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born Oct. 16, 1987, in Joplin, Mo.

Matt was a lifelong area resident and a member of Jones Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. He was a graduate student at the University of Arkansas, where he was finishing his master's degree in animal science. He was a member of Alpha Zeta Fraternity, the FFA, and an Outstanding Transfer Student of the Animal Science Department at the University. He was a member of the Newton County Extension Council.

Matt and Johanna Baker were married Oct. 8, 2011, in Ridgley, Mo.; Johanna survives.

Additional survivors include: his parents, Donnie and Paula (Embrey) Rowe, of Neosho; a brother, Darren Alan Rowe, of Neosho; aunts and uncles, Nolene Davis, of Joplin, Gene Rowe, of Joplin, Billy and Trish White, of Stella, and Wayne and Carolyn Rowe, of Cowetta, Okla.; cousins, Christy and Howard Hutton, of Columbia, Aaron and Casey White, and Gracie and Cooper White, of Southwest City, Brad and Kim and Will White, of Stella, Curt and Britney White, Neosho, Brian and Kathy Rowe, of Cowetta, Okla., and Grant and Cheri Watkins, of Tulsa, Okla.; his mother and father-in-law, Doreen and Kendall Baker, of Wheaton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Brandon and Amanda Wolfe, of Fairview, and Steve and Tabitha Holmes, of Wheaton; nephews and niece, Braxton and Aidan Wolfe, of Fairview, and Wyatt and Kaylea Holmes, of Wheaton.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Paul and Evelyn Embrey, and paternal grandparents, Nolan and Christine Rowe.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel, Granby. Burial followed at Dice Cemetery, Fairview, Mo. Serving as pallbearers were Darren Rowe, Brandon Wolfe, Steve Holmes, Joel Stansberry, Tyler Tidball and Brad White.
