The Lady Wildcats split a pair of volleyball matches to finish the week. Cassville dropped a match to Mt. Vernon on Tuesday night, 2-0 but recovered to win on the road at Lamar on Thursday, 2-0.

On Thursday, the Lady Wildcats overcame the rigors of a long road trip to sweep Lamar, 25-23 and 25-16. Rhiannon Miller led the Lady Wildcats, scoring five kills. Rachel Sanders had 12 of Cassville's 15 assists in the match.

Last Tuesday, the Lady Mountaineers took a 25-19 opening set victory on Tuesday and then rolled through a 25-8 second set to sweep the Ladycats.

Miller again led Cassville with three kills.

With the win over Lamar, the Lady Wildcats improved their season record to 12-14-3.

Cassville will play its final regular season match at Seneca on Thursday and then will return to Seneca to open district play on Monday, Oct. 24.

The Lady Wildcats will play Mt. Vernon in a first-round match at 6 p.m. with the winner advancing to a semifinal match that night at 8 p.m.
