William "Bill" Harvey White, 68, of Butterfield, passed away on Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at Red Rose Health and Rehab in Cassville. He was born on Dec. 28, 1942, in Jackson, Mich., son of Estel and Ruth Chaffen White, Jr.
He grew up and received his education in Michigan. He began his career in sales and management at Pepsi-Cola at the age of 16. During his 26 years of service to Pepsi, he received six awards for top sales manager. He moved to the Barry County area in 1994. He was united in marriage to Rose Van Sandt. Together they owned and operated a lawn mowing business for eight years. He was a member of the Gunter Methodist Church in Purdy.
Survivors include: his wife, Rose Van Sandt, of Purdy; two sons, Chuck and Rick White, of Jackson, Mich.; five daughters, Pam, Missy, Vicki, Beth, and Shelly White, all of Jackson, Mich.; stepchildren: Brad Van Sandt, and his wife, Vicki, of Monett, Becky Butterworth, and her husband, Dave, of Aurora, Tracy Dobyns, and her husband, Terry, of Purdy, and Bobbi Plopper, and her husband, Tim, of Butterfield; several grandchildren; and one brother, David White, of Jackson, Mich. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Forbes and Ruthanne White, and one stepson, Billy Van Sandt.
Funeral services were held on Monday at the White Funeral Home in Cassville with Brother Jerry Nickel officiating. Burial followed at the Russell Cemetery in Butterfield.
