Eve "Eva" Holder, 91, of Butterfield, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011. She was born Aug. 26, 1920, at Newtonia, in Newton County, to Sherman and Naomi (Troxel) Oxendine.
She attended all 12 years of school at Fairview School in Fairview, where she graduated in 1939. Soon after graduation, she moved to Butterfield to take a job, and while there she met Odis Holder. They were united in marriage on April 12, 1941. She worked side by side with Odis on the farm and in the auction business until his death in May 1996. Also preceding her in death were her parents, one sister, Dorothy (Poor) Murray, and three brothers, Fred, Warren and L.V. Oxendine.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Cassville.
Survivors include: her one son, Joe Holder, and his wife, Karen, of Cassville; two grandsons; five great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Hutchings and her husband, Claud, of Fairview; and one sister-in-law, Bobbie Oxendine, of Joplin.
Funeral services were held Monday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Don Beeson conducted the services. Burial was at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Butterfield.
