Thorco plant manager retires
Thorco Industries in Cassville held a special luncheon in honor of plant manager Bennie Ratterree on Sept. 28. Ratterree is retiring from the company after 33 years of service.
"Bennie is leaving big shoes to fill," said Jeff Gardener, Thorco Industries president.
Ratterree began working for Thorco Industries as a production worker on Jan. 23, 1979. He was promoted to a lead position five years later in 1984. In 1989, he began serving as a supervisor.
In 1992, Ratterree accepted the position of assistant plant manager at the Thorco Industries plant in Lamar. Eight year later, in 2000, Ratterree relocated to the Cassville Thorco plant.
"I'm really going to miss the people I work with here," said Ratterree. "It was just time though. I'm ready to do what I want to do for a while."
Ratterree plans to work in his personal shop at home where he enjoys rebuilding classic cars. He would also like to spend some time traveling.
According to Gardener, Thorco Industries is currently in the interview process for a new Cassville plant manager. No goal has been set for when a new manager will be announced at the local plant.
