Ladycats win two of three matches

The Cassville Lady Wildcats enjoyed a 2-1 week on the volleyball court, defeating Aurora and Galena but dropping a match to Monett.

Cassville took three sets to put away Aurora on Monday night. The visitors won the opening set 25-21, but the Lady 'Cats rebounded to take the final two sets, 25-20 and 25-19.

Gabby Ogan and Libby Hinson keyed the victory over Aurora, scoring six and five kills respectively. Ogan also served for 13 points in the win.

On Tuesday, the Cassville girls traveled to Galena and scored a straight-set victory over the Lady Bears, 25-20 and 25-15.

Rhiannon Miller came up with seven kills in the two-set match to lead Cassville. Rachel Sanders served for a dozen points.

But on the road trip to Monett on Thursday, the Lady Cubs scored a bookend 2-1 victory, defeating the Lady Wildcats, 25-16, 21-25 and 25-20.

Hinson led Cassville with eight kills, Miller added four, and Keisha Corn, Callie Woods and Miller had three each.

The Lady Wildcats host Carl Junction on Oct. 6 and then will travel to Hollister to compete in a tournament on Saturday. Cassville is also scheduled to host Reeds Spring next Monday and Mt. Vernon on Tuesday.
