The Cassville Senior Center will host a free chronic disease self-management workshop from 1 to 2:30 p.m. each Monday from Oct. 3 through Nov. 22. Linda Parker, senior center administrator, will serve as instructor.
Community members living with arthritis, asthma, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, depression, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, lupus and other chronic conditions are encouraged to attend.
Individuals will learn how to deal with stress, fear and anxiety and manage medications and symptoms. The workshop will also offer tips on eating healthier, communicating effectively, sleeping better and developing a healthier lifestyle.
The workshop, which is sponsored by the Southwest Missouri Office on Aging, is designed to benefit adults who have been diagnosed with a disease, live with someone who has a chronic disease or cares for an individual with a disease.
