The Cassville Lady Wildcat softball team hosted Reeds Spring last Wednesday afternoon and fell 6-4.

Held scoreless for the first six innings, the Cassville bats finally came alive in the seventh inning and put four runs across the plate. The effort was impressive but fell short of the win.

Reeds Spring did not score until the sixth inning when they tallied two runs to take a 2-0 lead. Four more runs in the seventh gave the Lady Wolves the 6-4 victory.

Emily Speakman took the loss on the mound for Cassville, pitching for 6.3 innings. She struck out four and gave up four hits. Taylor Wolf came on in relief in the seventh.

On offense, the Lady Wildcats were led by Howard, who went two for four, with two RBI and one run scored, and Blisard with two RBI and one run scored. Other Cassville players who picked up hits were Everett, Speakman and Branham.

Cassville is scheduled to travel to Hollister on Thursday. The Lady Wildcats will host Forsyth on Friday for their last home game of the season.
