Weekend crashes leave several county residents injured
A Golden man was injured in a single-vehicle wreck that took place on Saturday on Highway J two-10ths of a mile east of Golden.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred at 10:20 p.m. when the driver of a Ford Mustang, Shannon K. Forkner, 36, of Golden, ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.
Forkner was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Berryville, Ark., with minor injuries.
* Three people were injured in a single-vehicle wreck on Saturday on Farm Road 2175 at Farm Road 1160 three miles east of Cassville. The wreck occurred at 3 a.m. when the driver of a 1988 Ford truck, Harold L. Hawkins, 24, of Cassville, slid off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree. All occupants of the vehicle left the scene and were located by the ambulance crew elsewhere. A passenger in the vehicle, Charles A. Diediker, 23, of Cassville, was taken to St. John's Hospital-Cassville with moderate injuries. Another passenger, Josh L. Hudson, 21, of Cassville, was taken to St. John's Hospital-Cassville with serious injuries. Hawkins refused treatment for what appeared to be moderate injuries. None of the vehicle's occupants were wearing seat belts.
* Three people were injured in a wreck that took place at 9:15 p.m. on Saturday on Highway 37 three miles north of Seligman. The crash occurred when the driver of a 1994 Ford F150, Patrick W. Chisholm, 18, of Seligman, ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole. Chisholm was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers, Ark., with moderate injuries. Two passengers in the vehicle, Blijah W. Bridges, 16, of Seligman, and Sasha L. Taylor, 16, of Exeter, were taken by ambulance to St. John's Hospital-Cassville with minor injuries. None of the vehicles occupants were wearing seat belts.
* A Purdy man was injured in a two-vehicle wreck that occurred Thursday on Farm Road 1090 two miles south of Monett. The wreck occurred at 6:35 p.m. when the driver of a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country van, Jennifer L. Graves, 32, of Monett, drove into the side of a 1998 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck, driven by Ronnie Kingrey, 76, of Purdy, causing the Kingrey vehicle to overturn in the roadway. Kingrey was taken to Cox Monett Hospital with minor injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt but Graves was.
