Cassville residents looking for a way to dispose of old electronics, appliances and lawn equipment should plan to participate in a recycling event scheduled to be held in the Cassville City Hall parking lot on Saturday, Oct. 8.
Computer Trade Recycling Center, of Joplin, will accept items from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
"We want to help residents recycle these difficult items," said Eugene Dilbeck, city administrator. "Computer Trade Recycling Center pretty much says it all, 'If you plug it in or it runs on batteries . . . we'll take it."
The following items will be accepted during the event: laptops; desktop computers; lawn equipment; televisions; cell phones; telephones; cameras; batteries; printers; large and small appliances; stereo equipment; LCD TVs and monitors; video game consoles; fax machines and other office equipment; computer parts; and cables and cords.
Computer hard drives will be destroyed on-site to protect privacy.
The recycling event will be held in the parking lot located at the corner of West and Third Streets in Cassville.
