The Jenkins Rural Fire Department will host its annual fish fry under the tents at the junction of Highway 39 and 248 on Saturday, Oct. 8.
Volunteers will serve all-you-can-eat fish and chicken, baked beans, potato salad, hush puppies, dessert and drinks from 5 to 7 p.m. Adult meals will cost $8, and children 10 and under can eat for $4.
Entertainment will be offered from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Items donated by area businesses and residents will be auctioned at 6:30 p.m. Door prizes will be awarded and a drawing for a stainless steel grill will be held during the event.
Funds from the fish fry supplement tax income received by the Jenkins Fire District. Monies are used to maintain and upgrade equipment and pay for training and supplies for three fire stations and numerous volunteer firefighters and first responders.
