CHS spikers earn first season win

The Cassville Lady Wildcats broke into the win column with a straight set victory over the Wheaton Lady Bulldogs in volleyball action last Tuesday in the Cassville gymnasium.

The Lady Wildcats opened with a dominant 25-6 set and then held on for a 25-20 second set to take the match.

Gabrielle Ogan led Cassville with five kills, while Rhiannon Miller had four and Libby Hanson added three.

Keisha Corn served for 10 points, including four aces. Miller kicked in with three aces and Rachel Sanders had two.

The victory improved Cassville's record to 1-4.

The Lady 'Cats were unable to fashion a win streak, losing the next match on the road to conference foe, East Newton.

The Lady Patriots took a straight sets win over Cassville on Thursday, 25-16 and 25-20. The Lady Wildcats struggled against East Newton, scoring only five kills and four aces in the match.

Cassville is slated to play in the Diamond Tournament this weekend and then will host Aurora next Monday night.
