Lee Eugene Tice, 64, of Shell Knob, passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, in his home.

He was born April 14, 1947, in Geneva, Neb., the son of Howard D. and Mildred E. (Mills) Tice, who preceded him in death.

Surviving are two sisters, Betty E. Stollar and her husband, Cody. of Lincoln, Neb., and Lorraine Boardman, of Beloit, Kan.

He grew up and received his education at Fairmont, Neb., where he graduated from high school. He joined the U.S. Navy in September 1965, served in the Vietnam War and remained in the Navy until Sept. 30, 1987. He was a civilian in the Merchant Marines, working as chief purser in the Sea Lift Division, retiring in 2010. He was a member of Central Community United Methodist Church, American Legion, VFW, Shell Knob Eagles, Central Crossing Masonic Lodge #674 and Abou Ben Adhem Shrine.

Funeral services with Masonic Rites and Military Honors were held today (Wednesday) in Central Community United Methodist Church, Shell Knob, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Pastor Barry Fielder conducted the services. Burial will be at a later date in Fairmont, Neb.
