Luncheon and golf tourney to benefit CEF

Wednesday, September 14, 2011

Celebrate Cassville's Homecoming at a homecoming luncheon and golf tournament at the Cassville Golf Course on Friday, Sept. 20. The event will benefit the Cassville Education Fund.

Golfers and non-golfers alike are invited to enjoy barbecue sandwiches and sides from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the golf course. Meals, which are $7 per person, include a barbecue sandwich, two sides, a dessert and drink.

Registration for a two-man scramble will begin at 11:30 a.m. with competition starting at noon. The tournament is limited to the first 40 teams that register. Cost for participating is $50 per person or $100 per team. Mulligans will be available at the registration.

The number of teams participating will determine cash prizes and flights. Hole prizes will also be awarded.

Those who can't play in the scramble will have the opportunity to compete in a putting contest between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The contest is open to anyone. The cost is $10 for three putts.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Cassville Education Fund, a permanent endowment for funding educational needs at Cassville R-4 Schools.

Participating sponsors include: All Points Recycling; Angel and Company, CPAs, P.C.; Cassville Veterinary Clinic and Dr. Chip and Dana Kammerlohr; Commerce Bank; Designs by Debbie; Ellis, Cupps and Cole, Attorneys at Law; First State Bank; Freedom Bank; International Paper; John Sullivan; Roaring River Resort; Runnels Chiropractic; Security Bank; Tomblin's Jewelry and Gifts; Arning Industries, Inc.; and Willis Insurance.
