Soccer 'Cats ground the Jays

Wednesday, September 14, 2011

Cassville broke its three game losing streak against Marshfield in a convincing manner on Monday. Previously, the soccer 'Cats lost to Neosho, Monett and Branson.

Avenging a 2-1 loss last year, the Wildcats controlled the time of possession and tallied three goals against the Jays.

The first goal was scored in the 10th minute by senior Christian Hagan who was assisted by sophomore Zach McGuffey.

McGuffey had a dominant performance in the game putting two more goals in during the 20th minute and during the last minute of the first half.

The Wildcats controlled the game into the second half as Kevin Callahan and the defense did a splendid job of shutting down the Jays' attack.

The 'Cats will take on Central at the Cooper Soccer Fields in Springfield at 5 p.m. on Sept. 15.
