James Eugene Hilburn, 72, of Exeter, passed away Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, in Red Rose Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cassville.
He was born Feb. 13, 1939, in Butterfield, the son of Harvey and Lona (Richardson) Hilburn. Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Charles Hilburn; and one sister, Helen Stasponski.
Survivors include: two sons, Joseph Mistler and his wife, Cathy, of Purdy, and Ronnie Hilburn and his wife, Jane, of Purdy; two daughters, Tina Daniels and her husband, Terry, of Cassville, and Brenda Persons, of Wheaton; nine grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren; six brothers, Wayne Hilburn and his wife, Becky, Ralph Hilburn, and his wife, Sharon, Clyde Hilburn and Jerry Hilburn and his wife, Sondra, all of Cassville, Harvey Hilburn, of Winslow, Ark., and John Hilburn and his wife, Brenda, of Grove, Okla.; and three sisters, Ruth Lakey and her husband, Sonny, Linda Coones and her husband, Steve, and Rhoda Balch, all of Cassville.
He grew up and received his education at Butterfield. Several years of his life was spent in Oregon. He was a volunteer fireman in Coburg, Ore. In 1977, he moved back to Missouri to make his home. He had worked for Flat Creek Road District and also Exeter Road District.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
