Farmers' market still open

Wednesday, September 14, 2011

The Garden Sass Farmers' Market continues to offer a variety of fresh produce at the pavilion on Mineral Springs Road in the Cassville City Park from 7 to 11 a.m. each Tuesday and Friday.

Current vendors are offering tomatoes, cantaloupe, green beans, okra, cucumbers, summer squash, beets, winter squash, watermelon, bell peppers and other types of sweet and hot peppers.

"There are still fresh eggs for sale along with some crafts," said John Potter, Garden Sass Farmers' Market president. "I am starting to see some real nice sweet potatoes and some new potatoes hitting the market also."

Area residents are encouraged to visit the farmers' market for fresh, locally grown produce. Vendors are available to answer questions.

"Come by and visit us this month to see all we have to offer," said Potter. "Please, shop local and help your neighborhood farmers."

For more information, call Potter at 417-652-3326 or visit the market.
