Connection will host chamber luncheon

Wednesday, September 7, 2011

Connection magazine will host the Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce's third Quarterly Luncheon of the year at noon on Friday, Sept. 16 at the Barry County Museum.

The popular magazine was launched in December of 2009 and has experienced strong growth since its inception. A publication that began with 44 pages has increased to 68 pages with more growth expected in 2012.

Connection is a product of the Cassville Democrat and The Monett Times. Lisa Schlichtman serves as editor, and Veronica Zucca is the magazine's art director. Reporters from both newspapers contribute to the magazine. In addition, Connection relies on the talents of nine regular freelance writers and six different freelance photographers. Members of the newspapers' advertising staff sell the ads for Connection, which is distributed free in southwest Missouri.

"Connection is a hugely popular magazine that people love to read," said Schlichtman. "I think we're successful, because we provide an interesting array of articles about the people, places and pastimes of southwest Missouri that make this such a great place to live, work and visit.

"We also work very hard to produce a top quality publication that area residents can be proud of," added Schlichtman. "Each month, the articles are showcased in a visually attractive package that features exciting layouts and phenomenal photography and graphics."

Those interested in attending the chamber luncheon and learning more about Connection should RSVP to 847-2814 or chamber@cassville.com by Monday, Sept. 12. Lunch is $8 per person.

For more information about the event, call the chamber office at 847-2814.
