A sobriety checkpoint will be held sometime during the month of September, according to Barry County Sheriff Mick Epperly.
The operation, aimed at cracking down on motorists who drink and drive, will be held in cooperation with the Southwest Missouri DWI Task Force and other area law enforcement agencies.
"Sobriety checkpoints are a part of the Barry County Sheriff's Department's effort to remove intoxicated drivers from Barry County's roadways," said Epperly. "The intoxicated driver continues to be a big contributor in our serious traffic accidents here in Barry County."
All citizens are urged to report any vehicle they observe operating in a careless manner. Incidents can be reported by calling 471-847-3121 or in emergency situations, 911.
