The Cassville High School FFA's horticultural booth earned fourth place at the Ozark Empire Fair held in Springfield July 29 through Aug. 7. The booth offered a picnic theme that welcomed fair attendees. The picnic table was constructed by CHS agriculture students and decorated with fresh and canned vegetables and a variety of potted plants. CHS FFA students are invited to bring field crops, fruits and vegetables to the agricultural department for instructors to enter into the fair as exhibits. This year, Marissa Tucker's homegrown Armenian cucumbers earned a blue ribbon at the fair, and Taner Wright participated in the open beef master beef show, placing sixth in his class. Tucker's cucumbers also earned a silver ribbon at the Missouri State Fair this year.
