Walter Len "Lennie" Schulz, 52, of Purdy, passed away Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, near Pioneer.
He was born Feb. 27, 1959, in Nevada, the son of Walter A. and Cora "LaVerne" (Barlow) Schulz. Preceding him in death were his father; one son, Michael Schulz; and one brother, Jay Bivens.
Survivors include: his mother and stepfather, LaVerne and Kenny Key, of Purdy; his significant other, Anita Ruark; four sons, Jimmy Ray Schulz and his wife, Mia, Cody Allen Schulz, Jason Eugene Schulz and Walter Len Schulz, Jr., all of Joplin; his grandmother, Helen Barlow, of Purdy; two brothers, Tylus Angel Key and Ely Cobin Key, both of Purdy; five sisters, Chyna René Key, of Purdy, Brenda Schulz, of Kansas City, Teresa Baker and her husband, Chuck, of Joplin, Ramona Helker, of Purdy, and Sonia Derrick and her husband, Darryl, of Springfield; and 19 grandchildren.
He graduated from Purdy High School and attended Crowder College. He lived most of his life in the Purdy area, where he was a mechanic and did construction work.
Graveside services were held Tuesday at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Butterfield, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home. Pastor Steve Cable conducted the services.
