Area businesses support Shell Knob organization

Kornerstone, Inc., of Shell Knob, sponsored its fourth annual Dessert on Us fundraiser at the Cassville High School commons area on Thursday, Aug. 4. the event was sponsored by the Kornerstone Community Advisory and Board of Directors.

Trina Colwell served as master of ceremonies. Lane Truman, auctioneer, volunteered his time, talent and humor to the auction. A floral centerpiece, designed and donated by Farmer's Daughter Floral, was auctioned. Amy Sampson provided musical entertainment for the evening's festivities.

Teen moms in the program provided pies for the auction. Shelley Davison, Ashley Paine and Sherah Farris shared their support of Kornerstone's programs.

Sponsors included:

* $1,000 platinum table: John and Debby Walker.

* $500 gold tables: Ball and Prier Tire, Inc. and the Shell Knob Lions Club.

* $250 silver tables: Arvest Bank of Shell Knob; Battery Outfitters; Friend Tire; Green Mountain Realty, Inc.; Marck Industries; St. John's Clinic of Shell Knob; St. John's Hospital-Cassville; and Shell Knob Pest Control.

* $100 bronze tables: Barry County Abstract and Title Company; Bob Bishop Insurance Agency, Inc.; Daugherty's Dairy Queen; Jim and Charlotte Travis; King's River Golf Course; Lakeshore Construction; Les Jacobs Ford-Mercury; Myers Dirtworks; NAMI Docks; Ozark Air Conditioning; Shumaker Tire, Inc.; Security Bank of Cassville; Service 1 Federal Credit Union; Whitley Pharmacy; and Willis Insurance.

"We appreciate everyone who attended and generously donated to our special fundraising evening, as well as those who donated their time and efforts to make the evening an enjoyable and successful event," said Marlene Whitham, director of Kornerstone, Inc. "Their support of Kornerstone programs and services is deeply appreciated."

Whitham also expressed her appreciation for the Kornerstone board members who secured sponsor tables and donation items for the auction.
