Letha O. "Ruddick" Hilton, 82, of Springfield, died at 12:05 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at Memorial Medical Center.
Letha was born Feb. 25, 1929, in Duquesne, Mo., the daughter of Clyde and Effie Roller Ruddick. She married Ferdinand "Ferd" Hilton in Las Vegas in 1978. He preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 2007.
Letha graduated from Cassville High School in Cassville in 1946 and a beauty school in Mt. Vernon, Ill. She worked as a beautician and at various office jobs over the years. She was a fantastic piano player. She loved bowling, cooking, making Christmas candy, crocheting, and sewing.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, John Nordin; two brothers; and one sister.
She is survived by: one daughter, Vicki (Smith) Nordin, of Springfield; step-son, Gregory Felder, of San Diego, Calif.; four grandchildren, Jamie (companion, Joe Meyer) Alexander, Jan (husband, Bill) Pinney, Jeremy (wife, Kim) Alexander and Josh Nordin, all of Springfield; six great-grandchildren; one sister; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Graveside services were at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Rev. Michael Dye officiating.
