Cassville Chamber to offer new monthly networking event

Wednesday, August 24, 2011

The Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce will begin a new networking event next week. The inaugural First Friday Coffee will be held at Sonic in Cassville from 8 to 8:45 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 2.

"The Cassville Chamber of Commerce believes that the more people a business knows in the community the more successful that business will be," said Mindi Artherton, chamber executive director. "First Friday Coffee will give community members an opportunity to visit local businesses on an informal basis and talk to other business owners in a relaxed atmosphere.

"Community members will also have the opportunity to go inside some businesses that they might not ordinarily visit," said Artherton.

First Friday Coffee will be held on the first Friday of each month from September through May 2012. All events will begin at 8 a.m.

Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy free coffee and win door prizes during First Friday Coffee. Community members will be asked to submit a business card for the door prize drawing.

"At the first event, attendees will have the opportunity to see the newly remodeled Sonic," said Artherton. "The business has been completely remodeled inside and outside."

The Cassville Chamber of Commerce will also host a ribbon cutting at Sonic at 8:30 a.m.

Several other businesses have signed up to host First Friday Coffee events. They include: St. John's Home, Health, Hospice and Medical Supply, Oct. 7; Security Bank of Southwest Missouri, Nov. 4; Runnels Chiropractic, Dec. 2; ACCESS Family Care Clinic, Jan. 6; the Cassville Democrat, Feb. 3, 2012; Commerce Bank, March 2, 2012; Whitley's Pharmacy, April 6, 2012; and All Points Recycling, May 4, 2012.

"By visiting with other chambers from across the region, we learned that this event works very well in a lot of communities," said Artherton. "We are excited to bring this networking opportunity to Cassville."
