Area men injured in motorcycle crashes
A motorcycle crash on Sunday afternoon left two Barry County men seriously injured.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jason Marchetti, 26, of Eagle Rock, and Donald Patton, 49, of Golden, were taken to St. John's Hospital in Berryville, Ark., with serious injuries after the 2005 Harley-Davidson Patton was driving ran off the roadway and struck a fence and tree. Marchetti was riding with Patton on the motorcycle.
The Patrol report indicated both men were wearing helmets when the crash occurred at 4:20 p.m. on Farm Road 2250 five miles south of Shell Knob.
* Two area men were hurt in a motorcycle crash on Friday night on Highway 39 three miles south of Miller. Dale K. Moose, 22, and Damian L. Moose, 42, of Lockwood, were transported to St. John's Hospital in Springfield with minor and moderate injuries respectively. The men were hurt when the rear tire of a 1981 Honda Gold Wing blew out, causing the motorcycle to overturn. The crash occurred at 7:40 p.m., and both men were wearing helmets.
* A motorcycle wreck on Highway 86 one mile east of Golden on Friday left a Lampe man seriously injured. Michael L. Capps, 55, was airlifted to Cox South Hospital in Springfield after he lost control of his 2007 Harley-Davidson on a curve, ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned. The crash occurred at 8:45 p.m., and Capps was wearing a helmet.
