Southwest accepts resignation, hires employees
The Southwest R-5 School Board accepted a resignation and hired two new employees at its regularly scheduled meeting on July 14.
The board approved the resignation of Lisa Miller, Title I aide, and hired Emeli Jimenez, Spanish teacher, and Ashley Fly, special services aide.
In other business, the board:
* Set the tutition rate for the 2011-12 school year at $7,200.
* Reviewed summer school data and information on a recycling fundraiser for FFA and FFA alumni, an earth berm on the east side of the elementary, which will help eliminate erosion, and the annual faculty cookout.
At a special meeting on July 28, the board rescinded employment of Emeli Jimenez due to health reasons and hired Dianna Galyen as high school and middle school Spanish teacher.
The board also voted to employ Sharon Horton Laborde as a high school communication arts teacher.
