YMCA kicks off youth programs

Wednesday, August 17, 2011

The Cassville YMCA is currently accepting registrations for its fall youth soccer and flag football programs. Practices for both leagues will be held at the Cassville Aquatic Park and begin during the week of Sept. 5.

Practice times for all flag football and soccer teams will be determined by the coach and fall on a weekday evening. Parents are invited to volunteer to serve as a team coach. Volunteer training will be provided.

The youth soccer program will offer the following co-ed divisions: preschool ages 4 and 5; kindergarten; first and second grades; third and fourth grades; and fifth and sixth grades.

The youth flag football program will include coed divisions for 4-year-old and kindergarten children, first and second graders and third through fifth grade students.

All games will be played on Saturdays. The youth soccer and flag football programs both offer a seven-week game schedule. Games cancelled due to rain will be rescheduled for a weekday evening.

The registration fee for YMCA members is $10 per player. Non-members can take part in the flag football or soccer programs for $35 per player.

Registration for guaranteed placement ends Aug. 26. Registrations will be accepted at the Cassville YMCA, which is located on Highway 248 in Cassville.
