Robert L. Alcorn, 82, of Cassville, formerly of Shell Knob, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011, in Red Rose Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cassville.

He was born March 22, 1929, in Gasconade, the son of William Ray and Gladys M. (Hannaford) Alcorn, who preceded him in death.

Surviving is one sister, Mary Cantrell, of Tulsa, Okla.

He grew up and received his education in Ft. Leonard. During the Korean War, he entered the U.S. Army, serving from Jan. 9, 1951, until Dec. 24, 1952. He was a clerk in the hardware business and worked at Tyson's, before he quit to be a full-time caregiver to his mother until her death.

Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Interment will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
