Woman injured in skiing accident

A Carl Junction woman was injured in a water skiing accident on Sunday at Table Rock Lake on Owl Creek in Barry County.

According to the Missouri State Water Patrol, the incident occurred about 8:40 p.m. when Edward D. Ballard, 58, of Belleville, Ill., was dropping two skiers at the dock from a Sea Ray runabout and the skiers collided and lost control. It is not known which skier struck a swimmer, Patricia A. Brigman, 57, of Carl Junction, in the head. Brigman was taken to St. John's Hospital in Springfield with moderate injuries. The skiers were not hurt.
