Purdy R-2 school officials have announced registration and schedule pick-up dates for elementary, middle and high school students.
Purdy Elementary will host new student enrollment for the 2011-12 school year from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. On Tuesday, Aug. 9 and Wednesday, Aug. 10. Parents must accompany their children for the enrollment process, which will take about 30 minutes.
Students that are new to the district in grades fifth through 12th may enroll between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m and 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 9 and Aug. 10. A parent or legal guardian must be present to enroll the student.
All students enrolling in the district will be required to provide a copy of their immunization record, a birth certificate, proof of residency such as a utility bill or rent receipt; the name and address of their previous school; and a transcript of their grades. Parents must provide personal identification and custodial documentation.
New students will not be enrolled on the first day of school, Wednesday, Aug. 12. New student enrollment will resume on Thursday, Aug. 18 by appointment only.
Seventh and eighth grade students who scheduled classes in the spring will be able to pick up their schedules from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 11 at the middle school office. Seniors may pick up their schedules in the office of the high school counselor from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 10. Juniors may pick up their schedules between those hours on Aug. 11 and sophomores between those hours on Aug. 12. All students who scheduled classes in the spring must provide emergency contact information and updated immunization records. All debts must be paid before schedules may be picked up.
Fifth, sixth and ninth grade orientation will take place on Aug. 11. Fifth and sixth grade orientation will be held at 6 p.m. at the middle school. Ninth grade orientation will take place at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria. Students must be accompanied by a parent and are urged to attend.
Information about middle school and high school programs will be provided and students will receive their schedules and locker assignments at that time. All obligations must be paid before schedules and lockers will be released. Emergency contact information for both home and work and updated immunization records should be provided at that time.
Opening day of classes for the Purdy R-2 District will be 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17. Students who do not have a scheduled after-school activity will need to leave the campus by 3:30 p.m.
Bus routes will be the same as last year.
