Russell Dee Smith, 64, of Rogers, Ark., passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011, in his home.
He was born April 9, 1947, in Plainview, Texas, the son of William Russell Smith, Jr. and Annie Mae (Harrison) Smith. On Jan. 29, 1999, in Bentonville, Ark., he was united in marriage to Teresa Bruton, who survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Rodney John Rasmussen, Jr., of Savannah, Texas, and Delbert Glen Rasmussen, of Savannah, Texas; four daughters, Trasa Ann Boudreau, of Jacket, Jana ReneeĻ Himmelbaum, of Johns Creek, Ga., Fawnya LaTawn Wauters of Annapolis, Md., and Lynsey Ann Smith, of Fayetteville, Ark.; one sister, Judy Fletcher and her husband, Denny, of Washburn; and 15 grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister.
He grew up and received his education in Texas, graduating from Lockney High School in Lockney, Texas. For four years, he served in the U.S. Air Force. Much of his life was spent farming in Texas, and he was also a car salesman. In 1972, he moved to Rogers, Ark., to make his home.
Memorial services were held Tuesday in the family home at 14772 Esculapia Hollow Road, Rogers, Ark.
Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
