Clyde Max Phipps, Jr., 40, of Osceola, formerly of Cassville, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2011, in Bolivar.

He was born Jan. 27, 1971, in Vincennes, Ind., the son of Clyde Max Phipps, Sr., and Joan Gale (Hill) Phipps, who preceded him in death.

Survivors include: his fiancée, Lisa Nunn, of Osceola; one daughter; and younger brother, James Phipps.

He moved from Indiana at a young age to live with his grandparents in Cassville. He received his education from Cassville and later joined the U.S. Navy. During the Iraq war, where he was a fighter pilot flying the apache and other aircraft, he was disabled. Following his discharge, he began to sing and write songs. He was of the Catholic faith.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Father John Braun will conduct the services.
