Event to offer art auction, ice cream
Kornerstone will host its fourth annual Dessert on Us fundraiser in the Cassville High School commons area from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4. The event is open to the public.
Dessert on Us will offer musical entertainment, a public auction featuring artwork created by local artisans and a pie auction. Lane Truman will serve as auctioneer.
The current list of artists and handmade artwork include: Dick Easter, vase; Oleta Swolley, purse set; Alex Buderra, kitchen utensils; Sue Beck, wreath; FranCene Crandall, sun bowl; Dianna Mansfield, baskets; and Stone Akin, jewelry.
The auction will also offer the following items: a peridot jewelry set, Old Church Gallery; personal hygiene items, Casey Shear Designs; gift certificates, Office Pub and Steakhouse, Barks and Bubbles, Kings River Golf Course and Sport Boats USA; a floral centerpiece, Farmers Daughter; overnight retreats, Hillside Retreat and The Lake House Bed and Breakfast; hurricane candle, Designs Finds; life jacket, Bruton's Marine; and beauty products, Velvet Comb.
Event planners are expecting to receive handmade quilts, a handmade wrap, a watercolor painting, a patriotic decoupage and several desserts for the auction.
Ice cream sundaes will be served during the event. The ice cream was donated by Country Fresh Market, of Shell Knob.
