Lawrence "Larry" Edward Ivie, Jr., 58, of Green Forest, Ark., passed away Saturday, July 16, 2011, in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield.
He was born July 7, 1953, in Mishawaka, Ind., the son of Lawrence Edward and Gloria June (Summers) Ivie. On April 21, 1979, in Fullerton Calif., he was united in marriage to Melody Ann Powers, who preceded him in death on May 18, 2005. Also preceding him in death were: his father; one brother, Gary Ivie; and his mother-in-law, Cludey Powers.
Survivors include: one son, Kenneth "Kevin" Robert Ivie, of Eagle Rock; three daughters, Elizabeth "Edi" Horn, of Green Forest, Ark., Stephanie Ivie, of Jonesboro, Ark., and Angela "Angie" Seals, of Newport, Ark.; his mother, Gloria Rily and her husband, Jim, of Pahrump, Nev.; three brothers, Jeff Rily and Bobby Rily, both of Elmonte, Calif., and Tony Ivie of Newport, Ark.; a sister, Marnie Rily, of Huntington Beach, Calif.; seven grandchildren; his father-in-law, Robert Powers, of Eagle Rock; and a sister-in-law, Susan Powers, of Union City, Tenn.
At an early age, Larry and his family moved from Indiana to Newport, Ark. where he grew up and received his education. Following his graduation from high school, he moved to California where he met his bride and worked for Kirk Kill Rubber Company. In April 1994, he moved his family to Eagle Rock to make their home. He worked for Tyson's in Berryville, Ark., as a quality assurance lead man.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
