The American Red Cross is issuing an urgent appeal for blood donors to roll up their sleeves and give the gift of life as blood supplies are critically short across the nation. A blood drive was held from 1 to 6 p.m. on Monday at the First Baptist Church in Cassville. Pictured above, from left, are: Kris Reed, from the American Red Cross, and Larry Meyer, of Exeter. According to the Red Cross, blood donation levels in May and June are the lowest levels seen in over a decade. All types of blood are needed, especially O negative, which can be used to treat any patient. For more information on other blood drive locations, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-733-2767.
