Wilma Jean Scott, 82, of Rocky Comfort, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011, in her home.
She was born Jan. 8, 1929, in Mills, N.M., the daughter of Chester and Ruth (Bosarge) Burnett. On June 18, 1949, she was united in marriage to Clarence T. "Bud" Scott, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, June Rose Burnett; two brothers, Eul Burnett and Carl Burnett; and a grandson.
Survivors include: one son, Clarence T. "Bud" Scott, Jr., and his wife, Carol, of Rocky Comfort; three daughters, Iris Brock and her husband, Steve, of Rocky Comfort, Janice Cooper and her husband, Larry, of Springfield, and Sandra LeVasseur and her husband, Doug, of Waynesville; four brothers, Avon Burnett, of Girard, Kan., Ted Burnett, of Boiling Springs, S.C., Marvin Burnett, of Rocky Comfort, and Billy Burnett, of Goshen, Ind.; two sisters, Helen Naab of Garden City, Kan., and Patricia Anderson, of Blue Springs; a sister-in-law, Georgia Scott, of Troy, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She moved to Oklahoma as a young girl and graduated from high school in Ketchum, Okla. After their marriage, she and Bud traveled the world with the U.S. Army. In 1969, she moved to a farm at Rocky Comfort. She was a member of Chapel of the Ozarks, where she helped in the food pantry. She was active in the Rocky Comfort Redevelop-ment Club, supported the Crowder College Foundation and was an election judge.
Funeral services were held Saturday in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Rev. Larry Cooper and Rev. Gene Robinson conducted the services. Burial was at Rocky Comfort Cemetery.
