Athletes compete in Y Not Tri triathlon

The Cassville YMCA hosted its annual Y Not Tri triathlon event on Saturday with area athletes competing in a 400-yard swim, a 15-mile bike ride and a three-mile run.

Carly Twarog was the fastest overall female finishing the grueling course in a time of 1:29.23. The top male finisher was Brad Hammon who clocked the course in 1:11.33. Noel and Jana Anthonysz made up the first place team. They completed the course in 1:46.22.

Other top male finishers were: David Twarog, first place, masters men; Ricky Kime, first, 50 and over, 1:40.59; Dennis Hughes, second, 50 and over, 1:47.22; Brian Hunter, first, 40-49, 1:31.09; Todd Holt, second, 40-49, 2:24.23; Scott Hicks, first, 30-39, 1:18.08; Mitch Walden, second, 30-39; 1:25.45; Richard Hurt, third, 30-39, 1:51.52; Justin West, first, 20-29, 1:43.20; Josh Shaner, second, 20-29, 2:22.40; Michael Robbins, third, 20-29, 3:12.45; Micha Miller, first, 19 and under, 1:19.06; and Derek Shields, second, 19 and under, 2:11.57;

Other top female finishers were: Kim Robertson, first place, masters; Cynthia Hughes, first, 50 and over, 1:47.22; Mary Twarog, second, 50 and over, 2:01.25; Shari Cook, first, 40-49, 1:59.11; Karma Rasico, first, 30-39, 1:40.0; Lisa Reid, second, 30-39, 1:54.26; Angela Pederson, third, 30-39, 2:01.57; Hillary Stephens, first, 20-29, 1:49.09; Layla Minton, second, 20-29, 2:42.21; BreAnna Robbins, third, 20-29, 3:12.45; and Taylor Robertson, first, 19 and under, 1:57.58.

Other competitors included: Stephanie Rhoads, Adrian Rhoads, Megan Sloan and Kana Henbest.
