Ivan George, 96, of Pea Ridge, Ark., died Thursday, July 7, 2011, at his home.

He was born in Edgar, Neb., Oct. 3, 1914, the son of Wyle and Mary (Parker) George. On July 27, 1936, he was united in marriage to Edith M.K. Frandson in Clay Center, Neb.

Survivors include: his son, Bill George, of Edgar, Neb.; two daughters, Nadine Miller and her husband, Franklin, of Pea Ridge, Ark., and Janice Hottovy and her husband, Larry, of Lincoln, Neb.; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Edith; his parents; one sister, Francis Toole; and one step-great- grandchild.

He grew up and received his education in Edgar, Neb. He was a livestock farmer, raising cattle and hogs and milking cows. In 1974, he and Edith moved to Exeter, to make their home. In November 2009, he moved to Pea Ridge, Ark., to be closer to his daughter. He was a member of First Christian Church for many years.

Graveside services were held Monday at Edgar Cemetery, Edgar, Neb., under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor David King conducted the services.
