Jimmie Joe Boyd, 67, of Lincoln, Ark., died June 29, 2011, at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, Ark.
He was born Oct. 27, 1943, in rural Cassville, the son of Archie Estes boyd and Mary Christa (Hilburn) Boyd. In March 1967, he married Gretchen Stubblefield and to this union a son, Jim Eric, was born in 1968. Later, in 1970, he married Charlene Harp, who survives. To this union a daughter, Rebecca Sue, was born in 1978.
He received his education at Butterfield Grade School and Cassville High School. He was saved and baptized at Butterfield Baptist Church at the age of 10. He was a maintenance technician on heavy equipment. After his retirement, he started his own company and did routine maintenance for some to the local lumber yards and other businesses.
In addition to his wife, Charlene, he is survived by: his son, Jim Eric; his daughter, Rebecca Sue Nix and her husband Rob; stepsons, Rich Harp and his wife, Kim, and Bobby Harp and his wife, Tracy; brother, Jerry and his wife, Donna, of St. James; sisters, Janie Saunders and her husband, Johnnie, of Washburn, and Joyce Swinney and her husband, Mark, of Saguache, Colo.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Estes and Mary Boyd; grandparents, Oscar and Grace Hilburn and Arch and Julia Boyd.
Memorial services were held Saturday at Mission Baptist Church, Washburn. An additional service was held Tuesday in Fayetteville, Ark.
