Jerry Ralph Kitterman, 72, passed away on June 23, 2011, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark. He was born August 15, 1938 in Grainola, Okla., to Ralph Albert and Bertha Alberta (Johnson) Kitterman.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law Thomas Fletcher, Aaron, Ross, and Robert LeRoy Schopp; and his sister-in-law, Linda Kitterman.

Jerry was a 1956 graduate of Rogers High School, Rogers, Ark. He served for four years in the U.S. Navy aboard the submarine USS Becuna. After returning home from the Navy, he moved to West Fork, Ark. He was an employee of Standard Register Co. in Fayetteville, Ark., for 43 years until his retirement in 2002. He was a Christian of the Baptist faith.

While living in West Fork, he was an active member of the volunteer fire department. During his time there he also served for a period as City Clerk and worked with the Boy Scouts. He moved to Lowell, Ark., in 1988.

Jerry is survived by: his wife of 52 years, Ruth Schopp Kitterman of the home; two sons, Allen and wife, Rachel, of Mt. Vernon, Ind., and Joe, of Lowell, Ark.; four grandsons, Joshua and wife Courtney of Fayetteville, Nicholas and wife Leanne, of Centerton, Garrett and Grady of Mt. Vernon, Ind.; one great- granddaughter Abby; two step grandchildren, Noora Parker and Dante' Rodriguez; and one great-grandson on the way, Conner Kitterman.

He is also survived by: two brothers, Ben Kitterman, of Rogers, Ark., and Bob Kitterman, of Pea Ridge, Ark.; two sisters, Ruth Fletcher, of Overland Park, Kan., and Bonnie and husband, Jim Scott, of Bella Vista, Ark.; brother and sisters-in-law, Jake and Virginia Stokes, of Rogers, Ark., Frances Schopp, of Rogers, Ark., and Catherine Little, of Anthony, Kan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Callison-Lough Funeral home in Rogers, Ark. The funeral was held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Callison -- Lough, with the Revs. Steven Johnson and Randy Burris officiating. Interment followed at Tuck's Chapel Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Callison-Lough Funeral Home.
