Vendors needed for Christmas in July

Tuesday, June 28, 2011

The Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking vendors for its upcoming Christmas in July Friday Squared, which will be held on the square in Cassville on Friday, July 8. The pre-show block party is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

"Vendors should take this opportunity to get involved in our local community and to gain exposure for their business," said Mindi Artherton, chamber executive director. "Friday Squared will provide vendors an outlet to talk to customers in a very informal and fun setting.

"Businesses and vendors can make this event fun for attendees by thinking outside of the box and leveraging this event as an opportunity to generate traffic into their store or booth," said Artherton. "For example, they could have special competitions and games, give-away prizes or even have a special product on sale exclusive for this evening. We want those that participate to get creative and make this an event our community won't want to miss."

Vendors are encouraged to sell food or merchandise, host games or offer services during Friday Squared. Vendors that are chamber members can participate in the event at no cost. Non-members can take part in Friday Squared for a $25 fee.

Businesses, restaurants, churches and non-for-profit groups interested in taking park in the event must sign up by noon on Friday, July 1.

The Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce and area businesses are currently planning a variety of special promotions, prize drawings and surprises for Christmas in July.

Friday Squared will offer live music, shopping and other activities during the pre-show block party, which is scheduled to be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Musical entertainment will be provided by Barry County Connections, which includes band members Ryan Preddy, Tim Thompson, Eli Stehlik, Rokky England, Roddy England and Robby England.

Elf, staring Will Ferrell, will be shown on the outdoor big screen at dusk. Community members are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and stay for the movie.

For more information or to sign up to participate in Christmas in July, call Artherton at 847-2814.
