The Cassville Rotary Club's 74th annual rodeo will be held at the Bill Hailey Arena at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18.
"This is one of the longest standing rodeos in the state of Missouri," said Stan Kelley, who is serving on this year's rodeo committee with Dennis Baker, Johnnie Cox, Les Chapman, Kurt Berndt and David Samuel. "We offer a great atmosphere in which to watch some of the top IPRA cowboys in the area complete. Those who attend will really enjoy it."
In addition to watching 142 cowboys and cowgirls compete in seven action-packed events, this year's rodeo will feature performances by The Rounders Quadrill Team from northwest Arkansas.
"The quality of horsemanship these ladies bring to the event is very skilled," said Kelley. "They work as a team to display exemplary skills. These girls are all high school and college graduates who do this as an extracurricular activity and really excel at it."
IPRA stock producer of the year, Hampton Rodeo Co., of Springdale, Ark., will provide the quality rodeo stock for the event again this year. Comedic entertainment will be provided by Rob Jann, and IPRA Rodeo Announcer of the Year Danny Newland will serve as rodeo announcer.
Rodeo attendees will be treated to the following events: bareback riding; saddlebronc riding; bull riding; calf roping; team roping; steer wrestling; and cowgirl barrel racing. A calf scramble will be held nightly for children under the age of 10.
Adults attending the rodeo event will be admitted for $8 per person, and children who are between the ages of 6 and 12 will be admitted for $4. Admission is free for children under the age of 6.
Rodeo tickets can be purchased in advance from any Cassville Rotary Club member and at many of the local banks. Individuals who purchase tickets in advance will receive a $2 discount on an adult ticket.
The Bill Hailey Arena is located on Business 37 north of Cassville.
