On Monday, June 27, St. John's Hospital-Cassville will partner with Community Blood Centers of the Ozarks (CBCO) to host a blood drive that will benefit the Joplin Schools Tornado Relief Fund. The event is scheduled to be held at the hospital administrative offices conference room from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The upcoming blood drive has been designated as a Salute a Veteran Blood Drive. Donors will have the opportunity to receive a free patriotic T-shirt during the event. Donors can also enter a drawing to win free gas cards or free gas for a year.
Each time a donor declines their participation gift of a free T-shirt, CBCO will make a cash donation to the Joplin Schools Tornado Relief Fund. Donors and other community members will also have the opportunity to make a contribution to the fund online at www.cbco.org.
Even though insurance will cover building construction costs, classrooms will need to be restocked with supplies and materials. The Joplin School Tornado Relief Fund will help replace educational items and supplies lost in the storm.
St. John's Hospital-Cassville will also offer free cholesterol screenings during the blood drive event.
